The Team
Jose Medina Camacho
Beverage Director / Co-Founder
Jose was born in Michoacán, MX, raised in Birmingham, AL. As a James Beard Finalist in Outstanding Beverage Service and co-founder of Adios Bar, Salud Taqueria & El Tigre, he's been in the business since the age of 14. If he's not running the bar, order this man a 50/50 gin martini. He deserves it.
Nathan McCoy
Chef / Co-Founder
Nathan has worked in kitchens for more than 16 years, most recently as Sous Chef at the iconic Gramercy Tavern in New York City. Coming back to his home state, Nightshade has been a way to explore his creativity — with the reminder that sometimes the best dish is a simple tomato sandwich.
Grace Kennedy
Queen of Nightshade
Grace was born in Alabama but has lived all over. She has been on plenty of adventures, including recording an album, researching wild baboons, and moving to New York to learn how to be a surgeon. One of her all time favorite adventures, however, has been working with Nightshade.
Kyle Walker
Pastry Chef
Kyle is the pastry chef at Automatic Seafood and Oysters, and he creates our Nightshade Pops desserts. Each one is thoughtful and delicious, and we are so lucky to have him on our team.
